First entry
9:30 AM Hi. Welcome to dietitian diaries, a name that i'll likely change soon but gets the point across. I've been feeling stuck in my career, not sure if I want to continue or search elsewhere.
I grew up in the blogger era. Tumblr and fashion bloggers were my bible. Sure I have instagram now, and a tiktik (specifically for posting my dog), but there's something missing within those platforms. I wanted to write down unfiltered thoughts of being a dietitian, and other aspects of my life, in a way that felt more authetnic. And I think there's some authenticity missing in those platforms.
I haven't decided how this flow will be. If I will jounral my everyday schedule, successes and challenges within the schedule. Maybe this will just be personal and help me to understand patterns of myself. Seeing if i'm repetitive in any way to a detriment. Or if it's something I think others will resonate with.
Today is Monday. On Monday's, I prepare for the diabetes prevention program group class. I took over this class when they let the health coach go. Attendees liked how she ran the class because she would make food for them. That's not something I've carried on. There's no kitchen in the community room where the class is, which means i'd have to maneuvar the materials around, have to think about prep and cleanup ahead.
The attendees consist 99% of veteran attendees; they've been here longer than I (less than a year). There are benefits and cons to this. I can count on a few of them to always show up. They help explain content to anyone who is new. However, they don't always care about the topic becuase they've been coming. Which is odd, because they don't know the content 100%. I wonder if they come here just as a place to be. Really, sometimes they seem checked out of listening. Or maybe i'm boring. Or maybe i'm just not providing food.

Finished class and there were 8 people today, 1 i didn't recognize. I have to collect Mr. Kelly's December sign ins, scan them, put them into the monthly report. I also have to call my appointments for the week to confirm. Then call referrals. And call no shows for rescheduling. I also have to do DSME work.
3:13 PM
I finished
